WHO CAN APPLY REGARDING INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ACCEPTANCE?

a)Foreign nationals (Provided that those who study in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey have registered before the 2022-2023 academic year (except for Foreign nationals brought to our country within the framework of Embassy schools, international private education institutions in the MOBIS (International Schools Information Operating System), Foreign nationals brought to our country the project carried out by the Ministry of National Education)

b)Native-born Turkish nationals who lost their Turkish citizenship provided that they ceased to be a citizen by courtesy of the Ministry of Interior and those who certify that they hold the Blue Card given upon request to those who have lost their Turkish citizenship (Provided that those who study in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey have registered before the 2022-2023 academic year) (In Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901, “(1) An infant born from the marriage of a Turkish citizen mother or father within or outside Turkey is a Turkish citizen.” So, it is highly recommended for candidates, who are going to apply for the foreign student admission quota, to review the Turkish Citizenship Law.

c)Foreign nationals who acquire Turkish citizenship later/ who hold dual nationality in the same situation (Provided that those who study in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey have registered before the 2022-2023 academic year)

*d) Turkish nationals, who were a high school student abroad before February 1, 2013, and who have completed the last three years of their high school education in a foreign country other than Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) [including those that have completed their entire high school education at a Turkish school under the Ministry of National Education (MEB) in a foreign country other than TRNC], 2) Candidates, who started their high school education abroad after February 1, 2013, and who have completed their entire high school education in a foreign country other than TRNC [including those that have completed their entire high school education at a Turkish school under the Ministry of National Education (MEB) in a foreign country other than TRNC] T

e) Nationals of TRNC who reside in TRNC, and have completed their high school education in TRNC and have taken the GCE AL exam, and nationals of TRNC, and registered and received education in a high school in another country between 2005 and 2010 and have taken the GCE AL exam

 

WHAT IS EDUCATION VISA?  

It is the visa given to international students by our Foreign Representative Office. All the students who will get education in Turkey have to get this visa by applying Turkish Republic Embassies/Consulars before coming to Turkey.

 

WITH WHICH GRADE TYPES CAN WE APPLY?

Candidates who have any points from SAT, TR-YOS or YOS will be able to apply to be an International student at our university..

HOW LONG ARE EXAMS AND DIPLOMAS VALID FOR?

Points obtained in 2023 from SAT, TR-YOS or YOS are valid.

 

WHAT IS FSE (YÖS/FOREIGN STUDENT EXAM)?

It is a type of central exam to evaluate General Aptitude and Basic Education Skills.

 

DO YOU ORGANIZE FSE(YÖS/FOREIGN STUDENT EXAM)?

No

 

DO YOU ACCEPT THE FSE(YÖS) GRADE OF OTHER UNIVERSITIES?

We accept the FSE (YÖS) grade among the universities that hold Foreign Student Examination(YÖS) which have verification code specified in Table 3.

FSE (YÖS) Minimum Passing Score:

* For bachelor’s programs of Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry, at least 80 / 100 points.

* For other bachelor’s and associate’s programs, at least 40 / 100 points.

 

HOW CAN I APPLY?

Candidates will make their applications online over https://ybf.ogu.edu.tr/ 

Required documents for application must be uploaded on the application system in pdf format completely. Applications with the missing documents will not be accepted. Documents sent by hand, cargo, mail or fax will not be accepted. Photos on the application system must be in biometric format taken within the last 6 months. Copier output photos are not accepted. Photos must be in jpg format.

 

WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION?

ARTICLE 13- (1) All documents must be scanned from their originals and uploaded to the application system. Documents which are copied and without original stamp and signature, and those sent by fax or e-mail are not accepted. The applications shall not be taken into account in case of having missing documents.(2) The following documents are required for the application:

a) High school diploma: An original copy of the secondary education (high school) diploma and Turkish or English translation approved by Embassies, Consulates, Notary or Sworn Translator in case the secondary education (High School) diploma is not in Turkish or English.(Candidates who have not yet received their diploma can apply with their graduation certificates from their high schools and valid exam results.) ("Equivalency Certificate" stating that the diplomas of the candidates are equal to those given by Turkish High schools can be obtained from the Turkish Embassy in their countries or Turkish Ministry of Education. It will then be required during registration.)

b) Academic transcript: The candidate's official transcript showing the courses and grades taken in secondary education (high school) and approved by the high school directorate. (In case the transcript is not in Turkish or English, Turkish or English translation approved by Embassies, Consulates, Notary or Sworn Translator)

c)Valid Exam Result Document: It is required to submit a valid exam result document, which is stated in the Placement Principles for the Admission of Foreign Students.

d)Passport: The color scanned version of the passport document, which shows the nationality of the international student candidate and has a validity of at least 6 months, must be uploaded to the application system. (In case the passport is not in Turkish or English, Turkish or English translation approved by Embassies, Consulates, Notary or Sworn Translator must be submitted as well.) (Dual citizenship holders one of which is Turkish or Turkish citizens who have completed their entire high school education abroad (excluding TRNC high schools) must submit a scanned copy of the pages of their passport or a certified copy taken from the general directorate of security showing the entrance-exit dates including the education date they have had.)

e) One passport photograph: The photograph to be submitted to the application system during the application must be scanned and uploaded. (The photograph must be 50 mm × 60 mm in size, on a white background and without a pattern, and it must have been taken within the last six months.)

f) Blue Card: Candidates holding a blue card must upload a color scanned version of the front and back of their blue card to the application system.

g) Certificate of Identity register: The certificate of identity register showing that those who have acquired Turkish citizenship after being a foreign national / who have dual citizenship in this situation continue to have dual citizenship.

h) GCE AL result document for TRNC nationals or dual nationals whose one nationality is TRNC.

 

CAN I SEND MY DOCUMENTS VIA FAX OR E-MAIL?

No. Documentary is accepted via fax or e-mail. Application documents need to be uploaded on online application program.

 

WHERE CAN I GET MY CERTIFICATE OF EQUIVALENCE?

You can get Certificate of Equivalence from Provincial Directorates of National Education up country; from Educational Consultancy and Educational Attache’s Offices abroad. You need to apply these institutions for a Certificate of equivalence.

WHEN SHOULD I PAY EDUCATION FEE?

In accordance with the 6th article of ESOGU Foreign Students Directive; Students who will be newly enrolled in our university pay the specified semester tuition fee before online registration.

Candidates who do not pay the tuition fee periodically during their online registration dates lose their right to enroll.

Students who do not have the TÖMER success certificate are obliged to pay the tuition fee of the program they are enrolled in. Tuition fees paid by students who do not have the TÖMER success certificate are deducted from the following semester fee.

Students who do not pay the tuition fee cannot benefit from the student rights.

 

WHEN I CANNOT ENTER A PROGRAM, CAN I APPLY FOR ADDITIONAL PLACEMENT?

Yes. If you cannot enter a program, you have the right to make a selection.

But, If you enter a program in the first selection, you cannot apply even if you do not enroll in the program.

 

I AM ENROLLED IN ANOTHER UNIVERSITY. WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET EDUCATION IN YOUR UNIVERSITY?

First you need to apply our university. If you have the right to enroll, first you need to disenroll in your current university then you can enroll in our university.

 

WHEN I HAVE ENROLLED IN A PROGRAM IN YOUR UNIVERSITY, CAN I CHANGE MY PROGRAM?

No. In order to enroll in a different program you need to apply international student quotas again. If you have the right to enroll in another program, you first disenroll from your current program then enroll in the new one.

 

DO I HAVE TO PASS TURKISH PROFICIENCY EXAM?

Certificate of TÖMER is not necessary if the medium of language in the programs is foreign language.

A student whose Turkish grade is inadequate will be on leave for 1 year to advance the level of Turkish after preregistration is done in the programs. If the student cannot advance his/her level of Turkish during the given time, s/he will be given additional time. If the student cannot advance his/her level of Turkish at the end of the additional time, s/he will be disenrolled.

 

WHICH TURKISH EDUCATION UNIT DOCUMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?

  1. Turkish proficiency exam grades which are valid for and done by Yunus Emre Institute are accepted.
  2. Turkish levels of foreign students who will study in the programs whose language of instruction is Turkish are determined according to the results of "Turkish Proficiency Exam" to be held by ESOGÜ TÖMER.
  3. By the decision of the Senate of Eskişehir Osmangazi University, the results of the Turkish proficiency exam made by several institutions in Turkey can be used to determine levels of foreign students’ Turkish level.
  4. Turkish preparatory course is opened by Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Turkish Teaching Application and Research Centre (TÖMER).
  5. The Turkish preparatory course of the candidates whose Turkish levels are A and B is organized by TÖMER. Candidates at A level can take Turkish preparatory courses at other educational institutions upon the decision of the University Senate.

 

WHAT ARE THE LANGUAGE LEVELS OF TURKISH?

A1 – A2 Level: The candidate's Turkish language is insufficient. These candidates can enrol in the higher education program in which they are placed, after one year leave of absence, after taking the Turkish preparatory course and passing their proficiency exam, they can start their education.

B1 - B2 Level : Turkish level of the candidate is insufficient. Granted for leave of absence for one education year from the enrolled department/programme to continue Turkish Language preparation course, and pass the proficiency exam.

C1 Level: The candidate's Turkish is sufficient; he/she can start learning.

 

ARE THERE ANY PROGRAMS WHOSE MEDIUM OF LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH?

Yes.

CAN I GET EDUCATION IN TWO DIFFERENT UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT THE SAME TIME?

No. If you wish, you can get education in one undergraduate and one associate degree program at the same time.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT RENEW REGISTRATION?

If you do not renew registration, you cannot benefit from student rights. The information of the students who do not renew registration will be reported to Provincial Immigration Administration and YTB.

 

ARE THERE ANY ACCOMODATIONAL FACILITIES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS?

International students can benefit from the private dorm and apart room facilities in Eskişehir. When you get your  identification number  starting with 99, you can apply Credit and Dormitories Institution during the dates reported. For the application visit http://yurtkur.gsb.gov.tr . There is no other accomodation facility in our university.

 

IS THERE ANY SCHOLARSHIP GIVEN TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN YOUR UNIVERSITY?

The University does not provide scholarships or financial support to students from abroad and does not act as an intermediary in providing them.

 

HOW CAN I GET ACCEPTANCE LETTER?

The candidates who have the right to enrollment can get their e-signed acceptance documents on https://ybf.ogu.edu.tr/. With these documents, you can get “Education Visa” by applying Turkish Consulship.

 

WHAT IS FOREIGNER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER AND HOW DO I GET THAT?

It is an identification number given to the foreigners who will stay in Turkey more than 90 days. After the application of residence certificate to the ministry of interior provincial immigration administration, it will be written on the residence certificate given in 90 days.

 

WHAT IS RESIDENCE CERTIFICATE AND HOW DO I GET THAT?

It is a document that shows legal residence in Turkey. All the international students who will get education in Turkey have to get this document. Residence certificate will be taken from the Provincial Immigration Administration. For application visit https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/.

 

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER I GET RESIDENCE PERMIT?

You should report the identification number starting with 99 to International Student Admission and Registration Office.

 

CAN THE STUDENTS WHO WILL GET EDUCATION IN TURKEY GET VISA AND RESIDENCE CERTIFICATE FOR THEIR RELATIVES?

Residence certificate will be given to the wife and children of a student who will come to Turkey for the purpose of education.This certificate will be in line with student residence certificate. To the other relatives with short term visa or visa release six month residence certificate will be given. If they can get long term visit visa from our foreign representative Office, up to one year residence certificate can be organised.

 

WHAT IS GENERAL HEALTH INSURANCE AND HOW CAN I APPLY?

It is the insurance which help foreign students benefit from general health services in Turkey. In order to benefit from general health insurance, foreign students should apply Social Security Institution with written request in at most 3 months starting with the registration to our university.
